Traditional African Medicine is an ancient practice of healing using herbal ingredients. The plants used in these treatments have medicinal properties that make them effective solutions for a wide range of ailments, illnesses and symptoms. As such, traditional herbal remedies have led to the development of some popular pharmaceutical drugs. Plants can help to improve performance, boost energy and provide motivation for tiring tasks.
Source of Health has carefully formulated a natural medicine, called Energy, that combines five herbal ingredients into one traditional remedy. This product is full of natural antioxidants and is believed to support energy levels and promote overall well-being. Energy is stimulant- and caffeine-free. We recommend taking two teaspoons of Energy in a quarter glass of water, every day, for maximum effect.

Ingredients in Energy
Energy is formulated from five herbal ingredients that have medicinal properties. Each of these natural ingredients has a positive function on the body, the muscles and the heart. It can be used to increase mental and physical performance, boost energy levels and combat the feeling of tiredness. The combination of these plants result in a traditional African remedy that improves motivation:
- African basil is a hybrid plant that can only be grown from cuttings – it does not produce seeds. It has antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This helps with recovery after exercise.
- Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an ancient medicinal herb. This plant is an adaptogen, which means that it helps your body to manage stress and promote mental performance. It helps to improve focus and motivation.
- Liquorice is that peculiar-flavoured black sweet, but it is actually made from plants. The liquorice plant contains the unique flavour, which is extracted from the roots. It is used in herbal remedies due to its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effects.
- Marula is famously known for its fruit which ferments when it falls from the tree. Wild animals eat the rotting fruit and become intoxicated. The marula fruit also contains essential oils, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals – essential for physical performance.
- Resurrection plant (Selaginella lepidophylla) is named as such because of its ability to survive complete desiccation and drought. It is commonly used in traditional medicine as an infusion where dried plant material is steeped hot water. The resulting tea is used as an antimicrobial to treat colds and sore throats, as well as to increase energy levels.
Energy also contains vegetable glycerine and purified water to give it a sweet, honey-like flavour. The vegetable glycerine is safe for diabetics and has a low effect on blood sugar levels. All of our products are alcohol, preservative, herbicide and pesticide-free.
Our 100% natural products contain herbal concentrates and last up to 20 days for R185, making them a cost-effective option in the traditional African medicine industry.
