Source of Health takes part in Zulu royal family community initiative

Source of Health takes pride in its work with local communities around South Africa. We work alongside small-scale agricultural entrepreneurs to sustainably source the plant ingredients for our herbal remedies. We also take part in community initiatives that give back to local residents in various ways. This helps to improve the lives of many South Africans in remote areas and build upon our strong links with local citizens.

Recently, Source of Health took part in an initiative led by the Zulu royal family. Together with King Goodwill Zwelithini and his sons and daughters of Kwa-Khangela Palace, the initiative helped to provide food and hens for 300 families living in Nongoma, northern KwaZulu-Natal. This involved sourcing and bundling food items into packs for each family. These food packs and chickens were then collected and distributed to the residents of Nongoma, nearby the Kwa-Khangela Royal Palace, which is one of the king’s residences. See some images below from the initiative:

Zulu King asks for compassion amid pandemic

King Zwelithini recently made a plea to residents in KwaZulu-Natal to work together and help one another during the Covid-19 pandemic. “This virus affects all of us, it does not look at your race, your age and what position you hold. We all know that not long ago, the virus struck in the royal household. It is doing the same to politicians, religious leaders, business people and the media,” the king said.

He asked that everyone be compassionate and help one another, but also urged residents to be cautious and follow the regulations outlined by the national government. “We can all see that our hospitals are already full, so don’t become one of those who will have to sleep in hospital corridors because there is a shortage of beds… There is a lot that we can do to help these brave and heroic health workers… we need to behave accordingly,” the king urged.
